Book Review   Seasons and Celebrations       I read “Seasons and Celebrations”. Today, even in Japan, there is a custom to celebrate and enjoy overseas festival. For example, Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween, Christmas and so on. When I was little, I was looking forward to those events every year. However, many Japanese probably do not know their origin. This book tells us about not only their origins but also the true way of celebrating. Among the many events that have been introduced in this book, this time I will introduce Christmas.     For the Japanese, Christmas is December 24 th rather than 25 th . People decorate their homes and shops with illuminations and eat chicken for dinner. Then, on the morning of the 25 th , the children will check to see if they have received a gift from Santa Claus. San Francisco Chapter 4

4. The fog and the fault   The weather of San Francisco is characterized compared to other American cities. This is because San Francisco is very near the water, between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay. Therefore, the temperature in the winter does not change a lot from the temperature in the summer. For example, in the day it is often 15 ℃ in February and 19 ℃ in August. Also, San Francisco is famous for summer. The weather is usually worse in the summer months because a lot of fog comes from the Pacific Ocean, through the Gold Gate and into the city. So, people sometimes need to wear a coat in summer! Also, the weather in San Francisco can be very different from one neighborhood to the next. Even if it is about 5 minutes on foot, the weather is different. One area is sunny, but the other is foggy or rainy! Book Review “ San Francisco ”     I read “San Francisco”. After reading this book, I was very interested in San Francisco and I wanted to visit there. I want to travel there in the spring or autumn. Especially, I want to visit Golden Gate Park and feeling the air of nature there. From this book, I could know about Sun Francisco, which I had never known before. I was surprised at the frequent earthquakes in San Francisco as in Japan and the summer climate. I understood why many people came to San Francisco well. I learned many things for example, history of San Francisco, the importance of a cable car, and famous people, books and places to know when talking about there. This book tells you a lot about San Francisco and show some interesting photos. If you read this book, you would want to travel in San Francisco and watch the movies with San Francisco. This story is that the children enter the game world and have an adventure. They complete various missions and encounter monsters and robots during the adventure. What I found particularly interesting was when the monster initially threatened the children, but suddenly became friendly because one child wasn't scared. I thought it would be fun to enter the game world.

This story is that two girls practice for go-kart race. However, they collide with each other while practicing and their go-kart break. They think that they cannot compete in the race. However, their parents come up with a good idea. They combined two girl's go-kart to make one go-kart. As a result, one of them is able to participate in the race and also receive an award. It is good that the two girls were hostile to each other the first, but gradually they collaborate due to broken go-kart.

This story is that two children time slip into the era when the plane was first created. In the era, they meet two men who is trying to make an airplane first in the world. The children know the structure of an airplane, so they advise the men. However, after all, they failed and Wright brothers, who everyone knows well, succeeded in flying for the first time in the world. The men couldn't make the flight a success, but I thought they were great to quickly come up with ideas for their next goal.

Before I read this book, I thought that the book told me about history of jigsaw puzzle. However, this book is about a man who is drawn in puzzle. For some reason he is chased and some children help him escape. It is very interesting to come up with various ideas to get him out. Especially, it is funny that he and his servant are dressed as women and trick the chase.
